With Sympathy, our debut studio album on Arista Records. The lineup consisted of Al and drummer Stephen George along with studio musicians. “Work for Love“ and “I Wanted to Tell Her” (w/vocals by Shay Jones) charted at numbers #20 & #13 on the Billboard US Dance chart in 1983. The album peaked at #94 on the Billboard 200 in 1984. A video was made for “Revenge.” Some foreign versions of the album were titled Work For Love. “What He Say” was renamed “Do the Etawa” on some releases. The cover was conceptualized by Brian Shanley and Jim Nash from WaxTrax!
